REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED.
Registration is required, and we unfortunately cannot accommodate walk-ins.
Leveraging his expertise on what makes a city truly global, Dr. Ariel Armony will be in conversation with Dr. Gabriella Gonzalez of Richard King Mellon Foundation to discuss his new book, Emerging Global Cities: Origin, Structure, and Significance.
Dr. Ariel Armony is University of Pittsburgh Vice Chancellor of Global Affairs and Director of the University Center for International Studies. His book, co-authored with Dr. Alejandro Portes, traces the transformations of Dubai, Miami, and Singapore to identify the common traits that allow urban places to become “emerging global cities” — centers of commerce, finance, art, and culture for entire regions.
